The one-line version

Expensify's homepage sells "the easiest way to do your expenses" and an AI concierge. Buyers rate it below Ramp, Brex and Navan on ease, the redesign is the newest churn trigger, and the one claim the market still credits Expensify with, working with the cards a company already has, sits in a bullet under the headline rather than in it.

"Ramp and Divvy both make you run their card to get the product. We had a couple entities on Amex we didnt want to lose the points on so we kept those on Expensify for the receipts and reimbursements and moved everything else to Ramp."r/Accounting

How it's made

We use publicly available data, starting with your own marketing site so we know what you claim and how you position. Then we look at reviews of you and your competitors, and the online communities where buyers compare notes.

Every quote is short and links back to where it was said, so you can read the full context yourself. A person runs every report and checks it before it's sent.

Questions

I asked ChatGPT/Claude to do this and got different results. Why?

General AI tools search the open web, which is mostly vendor pages, comparison listicles and press. Buyers rarely write those. AI tools also struggle to count inside a date range, and they often can't show where a quote came from. We read a fixed set of buyer conversations over a stated window, count within it, and link every quote, so you can check any number yourself. If your results differ from ours, send them over and we'll show you where the gap is.

Where does the data come from?

Public sources only: your own website, reviews of you and your competitors, and the online communities where buyers compare vendors and ask each other for advice.

How do I know the quotes are real?

Every quote links to where it was written. Click through and read the full context.

Is it all AI?

Software collects and sorts what people say and helps with first drafts. A human chooses the findings, checks every quote against its source and reviews the report before it's sent.

Do you contact the people you quote?

No. We only use what people have already posted publicly, we never contact or try to identify anyone, and we keep quotes short.

What if my company barely gets mentioned?

Then that's the finding. Being missing from the conversations where buyers shortlist vendors is worth knowing, and the report shows who is getting named instead.

How recent is it?

Every quote is dated. Counts come with the window they cover, usually the last 30 days, so you know exactly what a number means.

Can I check your numbers?

Yes. Ask, and we'll send the list of sources behind any figure in your report.
